Next, you’ll continue to see the Doge’s Palace which is a few metres away from the Cathedral, yet another monument suited in St. Mark’s Square. Just nearby the church you can admire the most prominent and most beautifully decorated building in Venice known as the Scuola Grande di San Marco (“Great School of Charity”). You'll learn the importance and significance of this building to the Venetians.

As you stroll the streets and pretty alleys crossing across small bridges of Venice, you’ll uncover hidden gems along the way, like Marco Polo’s house a great traveller and writer.

You’ll not stop there; the guide will walk you to the hustling and bustling of Venice's most famous shopping street known as Mercerie. This historic heart of commercial life in the city is sited between the Rialto Bridge and San Marco Square.

Passing the Rialto bridge, walk along the grand canal to the most famous and renowned Italian theatre, the Teatro La Fenice. Here you will discover the story of a mythical phoenix that's been told by the locals in Venice. Later visit the gothic spiral staircase, Scala Contarini del Bovolo externally along your way back to St. Mark’s Square.

The tour continues until it reaches the Grand Canal by travelling along the smaller, more picturesque canals, such as Rio dei Barcaroli, where Mozart's home is, and Rio dell'Ovo.

From there, on the right you will see the magnificence of the Rialto Bridge, which is the oldest bridge across the canal and is regarded as a masterpiece of Renaissance architecture and engineering.
